roythebus
Does anyone do a replacement mechanism for the Lima class 20 or is it easier to sell it and buy one from elsewhere? Edited February 6, 2020 by roythebus typo
RMweb Gold Dagworth Posted February 6, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 6, 2020 The Bachmann 20 is far more controllable, the Lima one tends to be overpowered for its traction tyres and so rips itself to pieces. Andi
steve1
You could take the motor out and use it as a dummy with a second powered one. They frequently ran in pairs. stevve
roythebus
Despite having clean wheels it runs rough for some reason. I'm not too happy with the bogies on it either. I looked on the net and found someone selling a running Bachmann chassis for not very much and someone else selling a Bachmann body for not very much, so should get a decent loco out of it for about £50. roythebus
the answer was Ebay, the chassis arrived yesterday, the body today in as new condition. the chassis runs a whole lot better than the Lima offering but has a couple of steps missing. Not to worry. It's D8000, one of those I used to see at Willesden 1A in the early 1960s.
