Deltic Man
Hi Could anyone tell me the visable differences between 9f tenders - BR1F AND A BR1C? thanks Nk
RMweb Gold PhilH Posted May 16, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 16, 2010 Have a look at 92077 and 92185 in the Bachmann catalogue. Also if you have a look at Andy Y's thread and scroll down there is a good side shot of the BR1F attached to 92212 on the MHR.
bike2steam
The drop behind the bunker is higher on the BR1f; with the water collection dome top sitting higher than the tender sides, whereas the BR1c is lower.
Poor Old Bruce
The BR1Cs were mostly fitted to LM locos (I'll have to check that though) and the 1F for ER and SR locos. The 1Cs held 4725 gallons of water and 9 tons of coal and were originally fitted to 92015-19/45-59/77-86, 92100-39/50-67, also 73065-79/90-99, 73135-44. Th 1Fs held 5625 gallons and 7 tons and were fitted to 92010-14/30-44/67-76/87-96, 92140-49/68-92202, 73110-19. The curves at the tops were quite different as well. great central
They did get swapped around a bit in later life (if you could say any 9F had a later life!). I have a copy of the 'Book of the 9Fs' and it gives full details on most of them (club library very useful). I've only scanned it at the moment, but I have already found a couple of Annesley locos that acquired other than 1F tenders, so I can renumber my recent Bachmann (2nd hand) one which has a 1C
