dasatcopthorne
Having spent many hundreds of £££s on ESU Loksound decoders I have had the opportunity , along with a few other selected users, to test this new idea. ESU, together with a specialist chip manufacturer, have found a way of loading sounds into a normal DCC non-sound chip. These, of course, are a fraction of the price of a dedicated sound chip. Every loco produced now has a DCC socket and the cost of a DCC chip starts at around £10. This is truly a breakthrough and I can tell you the sound produced is absolutely unbelievable. So now, anyone with a Non-Sound DCC chip can celebrate. You will be able to load sounds on to these chips with the use of any DCC controller using only 2 CVs. Let me know if you are interested in finding out more. Dave

RMweb Premium boxbrownie Posted April 1, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 1, 2020 I still do not understand why you have to use an old Citroen to load the sounds onto the chip.... although I suppose there is a precedent........
RAF96
You may be able to get the sounds in but getting them out again without any speaker connections may be a challenge taking you past all fools day cutoff time. 1 1
