Miniature clock mechanisms

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I'm sure I can't be the first person to ask, but a quick search didn't turn up a prior thread...

What is the smallest clock/watch mechanism people have found for use on model railways?   Ideally Quartz, and something that isn't expensive.

I'm modelling King's Cross station in N gauge, and there are a number of clocks in the tower and over the platforms.   The real size for the smaller clocks would be around 3 mm in diameter, but I don't expect such a miracle :)

I can find some inexpensive ladies watches that are under 10mm across and they could be made to work pretty well, but I wonder if there's anything a bit smaller that 'those in the know' can point me towards?

Thanks

Ross.

Hi there.

I suggest you look for a cheap ladies cocktail watch. they tend to have a very small face and hence small motion. Do a search on Ebay for this. It is listed as £7.99

Ladies Cuena Small Black Or White Face Narrow Stainless Steel Mesh Strap Watch

This maybe what you are looking for.
