Hi all

 

I am building an O gauge kit of a Southern Railway 40 T ballast hopper and have a question about the hopper door controls.

 

Does anyone know how the operating rod actually opened the doors ? The kit has a vague diagram with levers, a drawing in SR wagons has what looks like a bevel gear and I haven’t yet found any phots showing what was really there as it is a pretty dark area.

 

any hints or do I go with something vague and assume no one will ever know ?
