Dapol NHS Class 66

Cancelled my Hornby 66 and ordered the Dapol. Looks like only 40% of the RRP is going to the NHS rather than Hornby’s 50%, but Dapol’s a much smaller operation and I suspect this is a better model all round.

But the Dapol is N gauge, while the Hornby is 00.

I just hope they fix the shade of blue on the roof, their "Lesia" model was terrible, much too purple.

Indeed! My layout’s in N but I preordered the Hornby because it’s for a good cause. It was pretty much destined to be for display / keepsake.
 

However, now there’s a better quality option I can have my charitable cake and eat it

Yes, I have put my order in as well. I do hope this gets over the line as it is a great promotion for Captain Tom and the NHS.
