I've already described the method I used to get your last square, either on this thread or in the last version of RMWeb - I have a file of possible squares ready to go, and that was one of thembiggrin.gif . (It's a pretty distinctive square, and it rang a bell as soon as I saw it.) I add to the file of possibles when I'm trying to get a square set by someone else and see a square that looks good - I capture it and add it to the file.

 

If it's not one of the squares on my list, then there are ways of narrowing things down a bit - but you don't expect me to give them all away, do you? However, some of them would be: who set the square? (some people have preferences); what type of trees are in the square (deciduous trees are more common in the south than the north); which way do watercourses flow and which way do valleys point etc. There are also various map sites available which help, including (but not limited to - I'm keeping some of the good ones to myself icon_wink.gif ) Draggable full screen map (thanks to Martin Wynne for this one) and Geograph (use the word search feature in the top right to look for any significant features in the square).

 

So now I expect many more squares with really confusing clues in them! And remember - we're still looking for the ultimate square - containing a railway line and absolutely nothing else. We've got close, but ...
