RMweb Gold TravisM Posted July 8, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 8, 2020 (edited) I was looking on Realtime Trains and noticed that there is a Derby - Skegness running on a Saturday. It’s headcoded 1S01 (Derby - Skegness) and 1S02, for it’s return trip and it’s booked as a HST with a 110mph restriction, but I also noticed it’s also down as standard class only. There’s also another later train booked, 1S03 and 1S04 but the starts and finishes at Nottingham. Are they using a HST and locking out the 1st class or is it the vagaries of RTT? great central
Yes, they are HSTs, first class is declassified. Nominally still only 'essential' travel but slightly softer message in that, if possible you should use other means of transport. Somewhat confused message in my opinion.
fiftyfour fiftyfour
They used two "traditional" EMR (rebranded EMT) livery sets last Saturday although, p*ss-poor reliability not withstanding, there is no reason why they cannot use a "red" (rebranded ex LNER) set on those services.
