NER Quad bogie bolster

I've dug out my Parkside NER Quad bogie bolster kits from the "unfinished" pile. It's mostly done, but still needs the bolsters attaching.

Does anyone know:

a) how they were attached on the prototype?

b) if they were in fixed positions on the wagon floor and if so where/what distances apart? e.g is this pic of a model correct:

Interesting.  i have just finished building three of these.  My research, i.e. looking at the few pictures I could find suggest that the bolster positions are fixed because every picture I found had them in the same position.  How they are fixed I have no idea (and don't really care)

How they are fixed is more curiosity than anything. I presume they were in the same position as in the model pic?

 

Edit: Actually, the fixing question was related to if they are movable and hence could be be in any position. It looks like they'd probably be permanently bolted down, but wanted to check.
