RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted January 31, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 31, 2021 Thanks, D1001, this clarifies things a bit. 5101s at TDU 4144 10/9/47-?/2/47, outside my time frame then 4145 ?/8/47-?/10/48, then 4144 returns ?/5/57. My G W R liveried Airfix/Hornby hybrid 4145 is a scraper inner, and should not appear on the layout at the same time as 4144 or any crimson liveried stock; it is, in any case, semi-retired. I get why extra clearance was needed over the Tyneside Electrified lines, but why the even greater requirement for Loftus-Whitby? Were the check-rails abnormally high? and if so why?
