Economy Green

Hi Folks, a bit of a question for you... Economy Green, what  shade is that?  I know what middle  Chrome Green looks like,  as it's a RAL number , and even that varies, depending on the undercoat.....

 

Any ideas-pointers?

As I understand it, 'economy' referred to the lack of lining rather than any difference in the colour of the green.

Yes apart from the visual effect of the lining on the way the eye saw the colour the green was exactly the same when on newly painted engines.  

 

What probably varied was the way in which the green was applied.  For example Caerphilly painted in a paint shop and did a high quality, hard wearing,  paint job while Swindon painted in the main factory  with - from what could be seen on works visits - a bit of preparation then the undercoat then the top coat and with not all the old paint fully rubbed back (hence Swindon's paintwork wore away all too readily).
