009 micro modeller
Not sure if this is better here or in ‘Preservation,’ but anyway. https://pwgihr.co.uk/?fbclid=IwAR144GkyGi2r4GSqNoRCfyPl2zjTcd5sPQ_9PTKiM3-ydSv2AhcYx2fa8qA Does anyone know any more about this? I’m intrigued as I’m quite interested in the granite quarries at Penmaenmawr, having done an art project based around photos of it about 5 or 6 years ago and been up the mountain to look at Penmaen, the abandoned De Winton. It always struck me that there wasn’t really any kind of museum to the granite industry at Penmaenmawr (in contrast to the admittedly more significant slate industry nearby) so it’s interesting that steps now seem to be being taken to change this. Looking at their website it all sounds fairly sensible and not over-ambitious, with a community focus, but I’m assuming it’s quite a new project. Does anyone have any more information? I can’t quite be sure about whether they’re substantially building the replica wagons using original metalwork recovered from the quarries or working from scratch. 2
