Hi all,

 

having settled into the new house sights have turned to the available space in the basement. I've wanted to build an RMT-based layout for a long time, and have been tinkering with track plans for the available space. I'm not sure I'm anywhere close to the final design yet, but this is where I'm at currently - all feedback appreciated! The RMT is, somewhat obviously, on the left whilst to the right is a small depot so that there's somewhere to run the various DMUs and test trains I've acquired. The fiddle yard will be hidden beneath the urban scene with the bus depot/metro station.

The car carrier might make a nice cameo, would never have thought of that! That's an interesting shot of Dorchester too, just reinforces that I need to get working on some DAF 400 vans and their LDV successors.

Not much progress over the summer as the outdoors is just too appealing, but with the colder weather setting in I've made a few tweaks to the track plan and started building baseboards.

Well, the arrival of this pair should spur me on a bit. Currently working on the backscene and weighing up whether to paint one or import something from id.
