help with semaphore signals and sensors

I am having major concerns over where to place signals, i have watched so many youtube video's , and not sure what i am doing, again i am new to the hobby, i have played about many times with layouts, but now i want to do it seriously and to try and get it correct, and not to make costly mistakes, I would be more than happy to make a small donation.

 

             I have attached two copies of the layout one where i have place the signals, which are probably wrong, and the one without, if anyone could mark on the copy, what ones i need 'semaphore's,' i would like to buy the motorised ones and censors, if anyone's got suggestions.  i will be running all the big four, LNER<LMS.SR.GWR, and other lines   the size of the layout is 408 ins sq set in the 1940's, am i permitted to put my email.  i look forward to your response
