Doing a little shunting

After a little research I found that Ellis Clarke trains stock a replacement coupling which has a screw link for the mk 1 . It was a simple change over for the knuckle coupler . It was just a case of removing 2 screws from the kadee and use them to secure the new screw link.

The mk1 now couples up to the locos I have thanks for taking a look .

And another coach a mk 1 BSO to add to the collection again in BR blue these really are a superb model

Had a little time today so got round to the install of the sound decoder in my Heljan class 50 here is a short video testing it

I have now add a second smaller speaker to the class 50 it's a youchoos 8 ohms I watt I had in the spares box there are two sets of solder pads to put speakers on so it doesn't lower the ohms of the speakers ( I think ) not to sure how much a difference it makes but still think the legomanbiffo sound file is good .

I had a drive of the class 08 today with the mk1s and because most of the photos are missing now thought i would upload some more so here goes .

For comparison both my Dapol o gauge class 08 one is sound fitted with a esu v5 decoder the other is dcc ready . I will fit a decoder to the blue one , but think I will go for a different decoder and sound does anyone have a recommendation. I have watched some YouTube videos but I guess the speaker makes a huge difference . The blue one doesn't run aswell as 08740 I think I will add  lubricant and test again
