DCC Question (153 - ND114B)

Hello

First post!

Getting back into modelling after over 15 years, I’ve gone from analogue OO to DCC ‘N’ gauge!

Just a question;

I’ve purchased the following (not from Hattons)

https://www.hattons.co.uk/31844/dapol_nd114b_class_153_dmu_153377_in_regional_railways_livery_motorised_/stockdetail

Now it’s says DCC ready but requires a 6 pin socket what exactly is required, does it need a socket and decoder?

I’ve just ordered this, is this correct? Is it quite easy to insert?

https://www.dccconcepts.com/product/decoder-harness-zen-6-pin-plug-nem651-6-pin-socket-3-pack/

Thanks for the help!

The Hatton's page says it is DCC ready with a 6-pin socket. This will have a blanking plug fitted to enable the unit to run on DC. For DCC you just need to purchase a suitable 6-pin decoder and plug that into the socket in place of the blanking plug.
