RMweb Premium MJI Posted March 5, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 5, 2022 Hello All I am wanting to make both of these and rather than guess the sizes from photos, or copy Ratio van and have no planks. I am planning to resin print a few, but want to make sure I have them more or less correct. Wil most likely just do bodies an dmount on Parkside and Ratio underframes Thanks Martin
JimC
GWR Goods wagons has dimensioned weight diagrams for similar types which should help. Unfortunately b/w scans so dimensions are difficult to read. O39 17'01/4 inside body, 8'0 body width, 8'7 over ironmongery, 7'3 height off rail, 3'51/4 solebar to top of body. Anotated 040/042 same except brakes and W iron type. V36/7 were 20'6 over buffers, 17'6 over headstocks, 5'0 and a fraction door entry clear, 11'81/4 total height, 6'0 9/16 door entry height clear. Both 10' wheelbase. Edited March 5, 2022 by JimC
RMweb Premium MJI Posted March 5, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted March 5, 2022 Thanks I think I can work out the main details from those plus photos. I did get confused over O42 as some pictures show 6 plank as opposed to 5.5 plank. Got a new Elegoo Mars and want to print some wagons I need. I will need at least 4 of the vans and at least 3 of the opens. The variety of vans in the early 60s is pretty high and quite a few kit gaps.
Fat Controller
Trevor Mann did a drawing of the 1/032 in 'An Illustrated History of BR Wagons- Volume 1'.
