Dad's old photo's

Mostly Southern Region, but the odd foreign one might pop up. All from the very late 1940's, early 50s. I have hundreds of negatives to trawl through, so as and when I find railway ones, I'll post them.

First up, 35004 Cunard White Star at Salisbury and Yeovil Junction.

They do, but probably a trick of the light, as the one at Yeovil Junction was the next picture. Unless of course, Dad was quick getting back on the train.

I think JZ’s point was that his Dad took pictures of the same engine at Salisbury and Yeovil Junction. If the one at Salisbury does show the engine slipping on starting, he would have had to get back onto the train at Salisbury after it had started moving:
