RMweb Gold russ p Posted April 23, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 23, 2022 Does anyone know when engineers wagons and departmental stock started getting painted in drab olive? Cheers
hmrspaul
BR 9210 revised January 1963 is the first use I know of for departmental stock (other than breakdown train vehicles) to be olive drab finish (both carriage stock design and freight stock). Strangely it then refers to the future-- lettering and marking to be in accordance with a revision of April 1963 and to use white lettering paint. A very difficult colour. https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/brwhale/e1dc7c22d Paul

I model 68/69 and was wondering if I could get away with it which obviously I now know I can

As an aside, I see rtr wagons are starting to come out with the triangles, most promising. Mike.
