Does anybody know if there was a class 50 hauled train running in the Thames Valley today? I was out walking near Pangbourne this afternoon and I’m sure I heard one at around 3pm. I couldn’t find anything on a railtour listing website but it did sound very much like what I used to hear frequently back in the 1980s.

Many thanks for that. It’s a shame I didn’t see them; they sounded very good even though I was a good mile away from the railway line.
