Class 489 GLV

Pretty much RTR as supplied by Britannia Pacific with brass rod cab front pipework and MJT fuse boxes added by me along with a light chassis weathering.

 

 

 

 

 

I also replaced the chunky tension lock couplings with slimmer NEM types and repainted the cab front hosiery.

 

Now I just need to find the Dapol Mk2 coaches acquired about 10 years ago to modify and complete the formation.

Nice, are you going to modifiy the Bachmann coaches, ie toilet window and end high level pipes?

Re the toilet windows, I thought about  it but couldn’t bring myself to start hacking/sanding away at these fine coaches (Dapol ones I would have no qualms about).  They look ok if you consider you can only see one side at any one time.  The first class coaches look ok from one side only - two toilet windows on the other side.

Acquired some Bachmann coaches for the right price, so am severely tempted to make a few subtle changes
