RMweb Premium Popular Post DLT Posted May 27, 2022 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted May 27, 2022 Not sure if this is the right section for this, but the mixed-gauge baulk-road track at Exeter Quay is currently exposed. The bridge-rail is visible, along with the timber baulks and fixing bolts. It is alongside the canal basin, leading from the restored turntable-pit. The area is being resurfaced with brick paving, up to the railheads, so it won't be visible for long. If you want to see it for yourself, go this weekend! Cheers, Dave. 14 4 2
RMweb Premium DLT Posted May 27, 2022 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 27, 2022 Is there any other section I should post this item in? There isn't a GW or a broad-gauge special-interest area.

Try my "Abandoned rails in the road, (or elsewhere!)" Thread. It would be great there!

Exeter Quay 9/4/2013 cheers Yes that's it, and its the section beyond that has been exposed. The slabs are being replaced with brick paving incorporating some better drainage. Large puddles would form there, making it muddy and slippery. That's a drainage trough along the middle, it's NOT being converted to a rack railway.....
