Phil Mackin
Hi. I have an old loksound v4 with a Paxman Valenta sound file. Not sure who's sound file. Problem. When I power it up it gives thrash but within a few seconds it drops off then starts to thrash again, all with the throttle fully open, it just keeps cycling like this on full throttle and its doing my nut in. The sound file is great but try as I may I can't get it to keep thrashing in relation to the throttle position, it just continues to drop off then thrash again. I'm not too clued up but I'm average, I use a Z21 black and JMRI on a laptop to tweek CVs. Any help would be much appreciated Kind regards Phil
RAF96
Have you got Thrash set as a toggle or momentary function.
Phil Mackin
I've copied cv settings from other Loksound v4s but I'll be honest I'm not familiar with the toggle or momentary you mention. As I said I'm using JMRI to adjust CVs, have I missed something perhaps
Nigelcliffe
Toggle or momentary is how the function is accessed on the handset/throttle. A "toggle" requires two button presses: first for function on, second for function off. A "momentary" is function-on whilst button is held, and function-off when button is released. There is no setting in a decoder for this. Some sounds/features are better with toggle, others are better with momentary. - Nigel
charliepetty
If you have no luck with this, then it is possible to get the decoder re=blown with a new sound file, this I think should solve the issue.
