  1. Nigel I disconnected the blue wire I foolishly connected thinking I needed it for the lights to work correctly and bingo it works perfectly now. The only down side is that the lights go out on the stay alive but the sound and motor keep running for ages. I can't imagine why the addiction of the blue common to the 8 pin plug stopped it working but all is well now Cheers again Phil
  2. Certain I'm on the right solder pads, I had to use the blue common for the directional lighting which works perfectly (I presume that the 6 pin PCBs have built in rectification as they don't use the common connection). I've tried 3 different stay alives so I'm at a loss. I'll check Railcom is on and rewire it just in case Appreciate your help 👍
  3. Thanks Nigel I have actually connected to the Common positive and ground but I can't get it to work Could it be something to do with a cv I need to change perhaps? I think from what I have read Railcom being switched off could be a possibility Cheers Phil
  4. Hi all I picked up a Zimo mx649N cheap with a Valenta sound file. I took the 6 pins off and soldered an 8 pin plug as I'm using it on a OO hst. Question is how can I fit a stay alive? I've put a Lais across Common positive and ground but it isn't working. I've trawled through all the Zimo instructions I can find but I can't find a wiring diagram for this particular decoder. If anyone can help me I'd be very grateful Cheers Phil
  5. I've copied cv settings from other Loksound v4s but I'll be honest I'm not familiar with the toggle or momentary you mention. As I said I'm using JMRI to adjust CVs, have I missed something perhaps
  6. Hi. I have an old loksound v4 with a Paxman Valenta sound file. Not sure who's sound file. Problem. When I power it up it gives thrash but within a few seconds it drops off then starts to thrash again, all with the throttle fully open, it just keeps cycling like this on full throttle and its doing my nut in. The sound file is great but try as I may I can't get it to keep thrashing in relation to the throttle position, it just continues to drop off then thrash again. I'm not too clued up but I'm average, I use a Z21 black and JMRI on a laptop to tweek CVs. Any help would be much appreciated Kind regards Phil
  7. The default address appears to be a long address of 4 digits not 3 Whenever I reset CV8 to the value 8 it changes the address to a long address. Very strange It may be the way that the decoder was set up when the sound file was installed? Could that be done Thanks for your help
  8. I've been putting in 6 which gets everything working fine
  9. Strange one for me but someone more knowledgeable might know why. Got a Heljan class 76 with I think Olivias sounds on a loksound v4. When I carry out a factory reset or an address change it alters Cv29 to a value of 46 and stops working. I'm using a Z21 black as a controller. Not a huge issue but initially I thought the decoder had blown when it stopped working completely. I can alter cv29 to 6 and it spring back into life. Thanks in advance
  10. Hi. Recently purchased an Oxford rail mk3 Trub from a well-known auction site. Found to be missing the NEM cam pockets and springs so I'm after a pair. After numerous Internet searches I've drawn a blank Can anyone suggest a spares stockists that may have these items. Thanks in advance for any help Phil
  11. Hi I have a Loksound V4 8pin (see pic) which I'd like to get reblown I've never seen a V4 select in the 8pin version so am I correct assuming it is a full fat? Or is there any way I can identify it as such? Thanks in advance for any help
