I have 2 of the early LNER Hornby ones in my collection, among others. I also broke a habit of a lifetime and bought the Hornby Tornado when it was released. But of the ones I have, my favourite A3s are these 2. 60106 Flying Fox and 60036 Colombo. Fairly heavily weathered and modified Triang A3's
Il Grifone
TTR Scotsman 60103 (all working, apart from the pony truck frames which suffered from the dreaded 'pest')* and a Tri-ang/Hornby 4472. *Strictly an A1(A10) as the casting dates from pre-war, but one can't be too pedantic about something that runs on the chassis of a German Br 01 (marking it 'FOREIGN' fooled nobody).
