RMweb Premium Newbie2020 Posted October 3, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) Hi, I'm building a small TMD on my Lyneworth & Millhampton layout and have got the Bachmann 2 lane shed to use. I notice that there are loco doors at both ends of the shed and wondered what the use was for the rear doors? Were these always used or rarely? Was the through track just enough for the length of a loco or would the track have gone on elsewhere? I've looked up images to show this but can't find anything uselful! Wickham Green too
Every shed was an individual ............ if rear doors don't fit your requirements, build a workshop / bothy / foreman's office on the back instead. 🙂 1
Pete the Elaner
Willesden can be accessed from both ends. This may be the less usual layout, but not unique.
black and decker boy
A lot of sheds had through roads, most commonly the fuelling road as with a high throughput, a dead end road would be too congested. some servicing roads / sheds could be through running or dead ends or a mix. Some sheds had doors, some were open ended places with through running include: crewe diesel healey mills bescot Millerhill Thornaby motherwell saltley
