DenbyModeller
I have recently got into modelling the late 80's and early 90's when i saw a photo of Bachmann's MK1 BG High security in RES livery when i noticed what looked to be tail light on the ends ( I have circled these in a photo.). In real life are they actual EoT lights or not and if so how would they be operated i.e; power and control from the loco, power from the coach but control from the loco, or full indipendent power and control from the coach? Wickham Green too
Power must come from the coach so the lights stay on in the - unlikely - event of the train becoming divided. No, I've never noticed these before either ! 🙃
298
The Super BGs retained dynamos and batteries, and I'm sure I've seen an interior photo somewhere with the switches in the guards compartment. There are a few videos on YouTube that would indicate that they were actually used and not substituted with a normal taillight, but I'm sure that wasn't always the case as the set (and one with a PCV) that I modelled had separate battery ones.
