Hi Guys, traveled down yesterday to Broadway. Staying at the caravan and motorhome club site right next door to the station.

Not a great journey down as an idiot in a VW van towing a caravan drove into the back of us. Back end of the van damaged but drivable. We were in nose to tail stop start traffic.
So looking forward to a happier day today. Photos to follow.

Cheers, Ade.

Toddington Station Yard and Engine Shed. Queen Mary SR bogie brake van and private owner wagons. Little museum in a former signal box and a working ground frame which you can have a play on. The Diesels take me back to my train spotting days in Nottingham in the late 1970’s with Peak and the Type 1.

Having tea and cake in the Flag & Whistle now while awaiting Merchant Navy P&O Line for our next ride.

Final photos at Broadway Station. Great day out. We thought it was good value for money. I was impressed with the line. Everything was in good order with even the embankments having been cut. Well done to all the volunteers at the line. Uniformed staff were all well turned out.

20210603_165409.jpg.05d944f2c053f07a7704f22d36b8ca97.jpgWe stayed on the grass pitch on this site next to the line last year........and excellent it was to. However the prices appear to have sky rocketed this year for members and availability has been very limited. Hopefully get back out of season next year

Regards

Guy

Really liking this lot - quite atmospheric.(But then perhaps I am a bit biased - it is my local heritage line after all...)

Carriages are nicely decked out. Picture taken while going through the tunnel.

Since the carriage we were in was very much Hogwarts Express style, I decided to be a Dementor in that tunnel.

We've been a couple of times this year, for the S&D weekend and the diesel gala (hence the nerdy DP1 T-shirt).
