Help! I need replacement bits for my Clan Line

Can anyone offer any suggestion to this one please?

My Clan Line has got a broken speedo assembly cable. Also the ladders (or are they steps) on the tender have broken off.

I have tried Peters Spares and they can’t help.

I have also gone into my local trader and asked if they have a dead one for spares that I can buy, still no luck.

I’ve also written to Hornby, but don’t expect they keep bits going back that far.

I’ll try ebay next, but not feeling hopeful.

Can anyone suggest how to repair the speedo and does any other model have an identical tender chassis?

Have you looked at Lendons of Cardiff lots of Hornby spares.

On the speedo cable, I glued a thin piece of copper wire behind it.

 

That worked and is still there now.

 

Try e-bay, if not, there may be white metal kit bits you can buy and use instead.

I'm at the Bristol exhibition in 2 weeks.  Will be scouring the 2nd hand traders first.
