RMweb Gold Richard_A Posted April 28, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 28, 2023 I'm sure i've seen this on the site somewhere but cannot find it, are the window frames on both of these the same dimensions or are they different?
Ken.W
From a quick comparison of Bachmann standard Mk1, M-C Pullman, and 101models The M-Cs, Pullman and 101, have windows the same depth The Mk1 and 101 have windows the same length. The Met Cam windows are shallower depth, but the Pullman ones are a scale foot longer
RMweb Gold Richard_A Posted May 1, 2023 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 1, 2023 Thanks Ken, My reason for asking is I have been rebuilding a badly assembled dc kits class 101 and I had to rub the window frames of to get a good finish to the repairs, I bought some southern pride pullman window etches and found that they are longer than the dc kits openings. Wickham Green too
Have you checked early Mk2 window frames ? - only the first Firsts had the two-part sliding toplights, of course.
RMweb Premium keefer Posted May 1, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 1, 2023 IIRC Mk1 'full' windows are 4' long (not sure about exact depth) Mk2 windows are 5' long and shallower (height-wise) than Mk1. I don't know if Mk2 windows are the same depth as the Pullman.
