Dunalastair
I have not posted on RMweb for a good while now, but while NGRM is down, I thought that I might post one or two of my recent static dioramas, using simple 3D printing. Firstly, a simple A4-ish scene from the PW depot at Chesterton Junction in Cambridge, based on a photograph in a Gordan Edgar book. The primary interest for me is the NG Ruston, one of two on the little-photographed (locos apart) NG system used for moving recovered track components. I don't often model SG these days so please make suitable allowance. There were substantial travelling cranes on the site, hence the complexity of the crossovers, with crane rails as well as SG. Both 03s and 04s were used on the site (what and when seems a little confusing), but a couple of old assembled and badly-painted Airfix kits bought on ebay made for a (hopefully) adequate representation of the SG side of the operation after a little paint and adjustment. NG stock and track is 3D filament printed, with the SG track at scale gauge for 4mm scale. The base is an A4 photoframe from Poundland. The two Rustons have since been preserved, and the depot sidings have disappeared under the new (and eye-wateringly expensive) Cambridge North station and other still-proposed development in the area.
stewartingram
I lived just round the corner from Chest Junc yard, good to see it mentioned! Never saw an 04 there, always the 2x dep.03s (91 & 92), and the last of the Sentinel steam locos. I had a couple of official visits to the site with the local club and was shocked to find the n.g.! I think I have a photo somewhere. I've also modelled one of the 03s, using custom Railtec transfers, and one of the Sentinels. Stewart

hmrspaul
I photographed 85049 on a couple of occasions B/w in 1979 https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/narrowgauge/e3a878978 Colour in 1985 https://PaulBartlett.zenfolio.com/narrowgauge/e53f1306c Both photos have part (at least) of some NG rolling stock, but I didn't photographed any directly. This finds some of my Chesterton Junction photos https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/?q=chesterton I don't remember mainline locos in there at all.
