Taigatrommel
Hi all, I was wondering whether anyone has tried using a PL11 surface mount point motor with the 18" radius peco 009 points (SL-E495/6)? It says on Hattons that it isn't suitable for use with finescale points, but I don't know whether the 009 track falls under that category. Also, if anyone has tried one, I don't suppose you could tell me roughly how far above rail height the top of the motor is? I've had problems with atlas motors catching footsteps on Roco OeBB bogie coaches. Thanks
RMweb Premium Nile Posted July 4, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 4, 2010 The top of the motor (the rounded bit) is about 5mm above code 80 rail height. As it sits quite close to the rail it could be a problem, unless you find some way to extend the operating arm. Taigatrommel
Thanks Neil. That pretty well rules it out then, as that's higher than the Atlas motors sit. I'll go for a traditional motor hidden in landscape or building then!
