RAY NORWOOD
The PDK kit King Arthur has a resin boiler etched brass and lose wax and white metal parts. I made a start on this the other day and started on the tender. Todays work on the King Arthur 30745 Tintagel. The tank was just a flat sheet of brass I have to bend the corners and make sure the sides are the same size then soldered to the running plate then bend out the the top to approx 30 degrees, then solder the front in place.the next was to bend the top to shape and solder in place.

RAY NORWOOD
Done a bit more on the tender of the King Arthur. Soldered the over lay on the flairled sides and the footplate also the bunker back plate. The flailed side was a pain to put on and get it right, I put on the Beeding around the bottom first then the overlay the instructions say solder the along the bottom and then bend up and solder along the top sounds good but it kept braking away along the bottom. What I should have done was bend it first the solder in place. Got there in the end.
hayfield
Looks to be a fine bit of building you have been doing and probably very sensible to start with the tender to get into the design thought train of the kit designer, before starting the loco itself. Well done a great start

RAY NORWOOD
Today's up date on the King Arthur loco. Finish the detail on the footplate. I had to rebuild the hand brake as it was missing but got the wheel. Built the tool box's on the footplate and soldered the the draft plate and the Beeding on top then soldered the hand rail in place. Then built the two bogis then solder the overlays onto then and glued the axleboxs. I am going to change the lamp iron as Tintagel had electric lighting so I have to make up the lights and put the disc iron on top. 4
RAY NORWOOD
King Arthur TINTAGEL I finished the tender assembly but still to do is the headlight lamps a Tintagel have electric lighting i had mentioned the on my thread on RMweb and Paul king of PDK picked this up and sent me an email from PDK to say he would sent me them through the post. I have started on the chassis. I did have a problem with this as Paul had changed the drawings of the chassis, in which i have phoned Paul about this. In the etchings it has a compensation on two axles but the instructions did not show this and also the front bogie is swiveled by being attached by a 8 ba bolt from under the cylinders but instructions say a bar from the centre of the bogie and runs back and attacked to chassis under the motion bracket.
