hayfield
Last week I won a brass kit built? 0-16.5 Hunslet 0-4-0T Not the best paint job but a very good build. I think this is an early loco on the basis it has a Romford Bulldog motor, chassis and outside frames are quite thick and Romford wheels used I am guessing the body is either an etched kit, or a very well scratch built model I only have the Stephen Poole/Peco model to compare, but it only has the axle bearing springs on the outside missing, but I guess if I study a few photos I could find other parts A set of name plates "Queen Elizabeth" were included The cab interior is a bit bare, I could perhaps copy (or speak nicely to Peco) the Peco cab interior without too much issue The underside looks very simple and crisp, and the rivet detail shown in the other photos which leads me to think its kit built Very much old school chassis design and may even be an RTR model, Romford Bulldog motor, wheels, cranks and gears After a quick oil but no clean the loco runs very well The pickups look kit build, but may be a later adaption as the soldering is not as neat Is it a scratch build, early kit or early RTR, perhaps someone knows. It set me back £49 plus a bit of postage, so a very pleasing find
Quarryscapes
That's a very nicely made Cackler/Jerry M model, £49 is a real steal!

Could you elaborate on the model please as I am interested in the history of model railway kits As for the cost, I was very pleased to win it, no one else was interested in it. Thankfully down to a poor quality listing Edited July 6, 2023 by hayfield
hayfield
I just received some more information which suggests this loco was scratch built by "Running Line Locomotives" who were based in Northamptonshire, part of a commission by two modellers
