luckymucklebackit
Hoping some one can assist here. I purchased a cheap second hand R4521 coach from an antique fair. When I tried it on the layout I found that the coupling at one end drooped badly and was catching on pointwork. This coach has a cam operated coupling that requires a small spring and this is what is missing. See attached photo of the other end with the spring in place I checked Peters Spares website and found nothing and also contacted Hornby Direct but they do not have this part any longer. Anyone know of a spring that could be used? Thanks Jim Howie
K Hatton
The spring you need is called a 'micro tension/expansion' spring. There are many different lengths/thicknesses out there so I'd suggest measuring the one you have and then have a look online (they aren't expensive)
