LBSC Billinton 6 wheel coaches in 7mm

Recommended Posts

  • 3 weeks later...

Apologies for the duplicate picture but just a quick update on the rake of 7mm Billinton’s

30ft brake third almost finished, needs interior, and roof fixing, and end glazing!

30ft third still needs seats inside, just trying out a few colours for the seats.

32ft first, not quite happy with the print but may line it and see how it looks!

32ft lav comp, same as above

30ft double ducket brake reprinted and ready to start lining.

yet to decide the final coach, whether to print another third, or new vehicle plain composite 2nd and first

Picture taken at the club on the layout Smithfield’s, backdrop the newly installed resin cast walling!

Update on the progress of the LBSC Billinton coaches for the ESMRC club's exhibition layout!

Roofs still loose as I need to check the weight of these coaches going across the points on the layout, so I may need to add some additional weight

Some subtle weathering down of the brass, and mansell wheels, and potentially the roofs

And finally the decals/transfers to add along with a couple more coaches to complete the six coach rake.

A quick update got some pictures at the club last night on the still in progress Smithfields layout thanks to Kevin who took these.

Have applied the amazing water slide decals this weekend courtesy of the talented Mr Ian MacCormac thank you for sending those over sir they are excellent as always and really finish off these coaches thank you!

Along with finishing off the 2nd Third class coach and brake, I would like to add a PRV, and possibly a 33 and half foot Tri Composite as this will add some nice variation to the rake I hope.

I know I know more coach pictures apologies but the sun was out and I figured I would get some better detailed shots of them now with the fabulous decals from Ian! Not perfect by a long shot but hopefully as I get to build more and more I will try to push the quality

Still have 3 or 4 more to build! I know its gone up since my initial 5 coach train I had planned, but really been enjoying building these and hope to have a more detailed explanation of the process later on if anyone is mildly interested in reading :)

Final pictures of the Billinton's tonight on the Club exhibition layout in front of our resin cast walls!

I have a couple more coaches to finish off D46 full brake, and D72 Tri Comp, along with another D74 Third class coach to finish the rake off. After which I will be turning my attention to the GER L77/N7 to get that finished

I've just found this thread and I'd  definitely be interested to know what you learnt along the way to get such good results. You hinted in one of the earlier posts about breaking the prints down into smaller pieces to print...

They look fantastic, by the way!
