Penybontshed
Ive just bought a Bachmann 37 in Railfreight livery, very nice but a bit quiet. Can I increase the volume with a Hornby Select controller? Thanks for looking
Alcanman
If you have an early release Bachmann 37 in Railfreight like this one, then it may have a Loksound v3.5 decoder which were a bit quiet. CV 63 controls master sound volume. With a Loksound v3.5 max volume is CV63 = 64. Newer Bachmann 37 have Loksound V4.0 or V5.0 and max volume is CV63 = 192. I'm not familiar with Hornby Selects ability to change CVs
RAF96
Select can write to CVs if it has firmware at v1.6 or v2.0 - the numbers 16 or 20 appear at boot up followed by 30 then 03. A number <16 means it cannot, but it can be sent to Hornby for updating at a cost of approx £15. Edited July 31, 2023 by RAF96
charliepetty
To make it louder the speaker wants a shallow box putting on the back of the speaker (IE a Sound Chamber) this if sealed airtight will make your sounds far louder. Charlie
