45568
I have over the last year or so been modelling different variants of the LMS Jubilee class. The latest off the workbench is 45629 'Straits Settlements'. This is one of a small number of the class fitted with the Stanier rivetted 3500 gal. tender. The model has a K's kit tender body mounted on a Bachmann 3500 gal. underframe. Compare this to 45564 'New South Wales' which was one of the few attached to a welded 4500gal Stanier tender. Both the above models use the latest Bachmann Jubilee model. Compare with this. This is the older Bachmann jubilee representing the long firebox version of the class. The chimney was replaced with a 247 cast version for greater fidelity to prototype. Others will follow as and when the projects are finished! Cheers from Oz, Peter C. RMweb Gold ianLMS Posted August 1, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 1, 2023 Being a fan of anything LMS, you can't beat a collection of Jube's. Well, except for maybe a few Black 5's, some Jinty's and a brace of Patriots!!!! 1

Always nice to see some Jubilee variety Peter. I particularly like 45629 with the 3500 gallon tender. It's a type under-represented in model form given that 50 of the 191 were built with them. I hope you don't mind, but here's my 2mm effort with the same tender, 45649: Regards, Simon
45568
Next up is 45704 'Leviathan'. This was chosen as I have a replica nameplate from the loco. This was a full repaint from an LMS liveried example of the Bachmann long firebox Jubilee. It was brush painted using a twenty-odd year-old tin of Humbrol 172 after the body had been sprayed with Tamiya black from a rattle can. Lettering, lining, numbers and nameplates are all from Fox. Various detailing parts were added, lamp irons, draincocks, tablet exchanger and the steps moved slightly inboard. The chimney was again replaced with a 247 models example. The chassis is a smooth and quiet runner. Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
