peach james
OK, I'm running 2x 950ma/9V motors, with a single decoder. I'm looking for suggestions for decoders that are around 2.5A peak, rather than 2A or less. Burned out my first 2A peak one today. (NCE D13R). Now I understand why the DN121's have a finite lifespan when abused...when I measured, I got closer to 650mA stall... In case there is any question, this is in Lego (roughly O scale) stuff- and the train was quite heavy. The two 25's were supposed to top & tail it down the hill, but I burned out the decoder before it got to the hill, with the loco stalled (effectively), not slipping. I suspect slipping would have drew less current than at a near standstill. James

Lokpilot XL should do as it has a 3amp continuous rating and overload cutout http://www.esu.eu/en/products/lokpilot/lokpilot-xl-v30/
