RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted March 9 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 9 Tuesday 5th March I spent some time at St Davids taking a few snaps. The 11.27 Okehampton to Exeter Central, 150202 The 10.35 Paddington - Exeter St D, unit number not obvious, but RTT tells me it was 802010. This was the 10.27 Plymouth - Glasgow, 222139 leads 222131. 159107 leads 159104 ECS over Red Cow Crossing to form the 13.25 to Waterloo. The chap in the orange is always visible on the crossing when a train is due, offering safety advice to pedestrians on this busy town crossing. It is passed in the platform by the 13.12 Exeter Central to Barnstaple, 158762. Finally the 12.57 Exmouth - Paignton, with 165101, which took me back to Newton Abbot.

RMweb Gold Ian Hargrave Posted March 10 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 10 Interesting set of images. Particularly the Voyagers which…..sorry to be pedantic ….are ,if 5 car units ,designated 221 . EMR operate 222 units which aren’t compatible with the XC Voyager for some strange reason. Last week I had the dubious pleasure of similar services on the route operated on both out & return trips by a single 220 4 car unit. There seems to be no reasoning in diagramming these sets by XC to correspond with passenger demand.I’m sure my expectations are naive but my experience on the route further north demonstrates that there simply is zero consistency in this.
