Hibelroad
I’ve just been reading about a method in an old MRJ (170). Small gauge wire bent at a right angle, mix canopy glue with French chalk, dip the wire in the mix and put a tiny dab on the model. Obviously needs some practice but worth trying.

RMweb Gold AndrueC Posted April 20 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 20 (edited) For what it's worth I've managed a reasonable effect in thin card in N scale by using a jeweller's cross-head screwdrive like a punch. You don't want to punch all the way through but a smart rap with the palm of the hand produces an effective rivet. Should work for larger scales as well. Lee-H
I’ve used very thin brass sheet and pressed a sharp point into the back to create the impression of rivets on the front.
GWR_NZ
Years ago I found this US site offering rivets (and other scale model hardware). While aimed at the model car modeller some may be suitable for model railways https://model-motorcars.myshopify.com/collections/small-parts-hardware/rivets Edmund
adriank
I use London Road Models Gravity Powered Rivet Embossing Tool (GBP 14.50) and am happy with the results. Adrian
