andyman7
I've found it necessary to check for the correct solebar colour for BR Blue stock. On Mk1 hauled stock they're blue but it appears that they were painted black on most if not all MU stock - I'be had to go back and refinish some of my efforts. Halvarras
That's already looking really nice. One buffer in the middle may be prototypical but it don't 'alf look odd - I keep thinking 'Cyclops'! With your 'open-ended' bogie construction I'm interested to see how you propose to couple these vehicles together - I'm sure you'll have a cunning plan.......🤔

RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted May 9 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 9 Hi John, I use medium viscosity superglue applied to the inside surface using the end of a toothpick. Clear actuate glazing strips are fitted in short lengths. Any white “blooms” from the superglue are “removed” post fixing using Klear acrylic varnish brushed on the inner and outer surfaces of the glazing. This also clears up any scratches on the glazing surface. Cheers Darius

Thanks, CJI.

RMweb Gold Popular Post Darius43 Posted May 9 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted May 9 Interior constructed. I was running short of Southern Pride seats so I made my own using strips of plasticard. The interior was airbrushed with brown enamel and the floor brush painted on grey. Upholstery decals were then applied the seats. Cheers Darius 15 8
RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted May 10 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 10 (edited) Slight diversion: I was looking at the MTK Bulleid 2-HAP kit and was concerned to see that the large windows to the corridor side of the driving trailer coach weren’t there. Closer perusal of the instructions revealed that you have to “carefully” cut away the aluminium between the small windows on either side of each door. Also noticed an error at the driver’s cab end of the coach - window and door openings punched in the wrong order. Closer inspection shows that there was a punched window frame in the door opening but it’s been cut out on both sides. Perhaps the previous kit owner did this and then gave up. O joy. Cheers Darius In other words, MTK have given you a 2 EPB, and expect you to make a HAP/SAP out of it. What a pain! I do love the Trojan upholstery you've done for the 4 EPB interiors.
RMweb Gold Darius43 Posted May 10 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted May 10 The upholstery decals are surprisingly easy to install and are quicker and less messy than painting each individual seat. They have made the interior construction process much more fun. Cheers Darius

Cheers Darius Gave up when he realised he'd cut the bar out of the wrong window?! Major faff, those corridor windows - many people would struggle to achieve a neat result multiple times without distortions to the bodyshell, no matter how 'carefully' they proceeded. A big ask, that.

A bit late, but: there’s a couple of packs at The Locoshed in Manchester if they’re the particular ones you’re after? Might be able to find more!
