7APT7
Hi Peter Been a very useful two evenings watching you get the cork, track and ballast down, you make it look to easy but i'm sure there's more to it than first meets the eye. Got templot up and running on my PC at home now so will transfer my ideas for the new layout to that over the next few evenings so i can get started with the track building. I noticed your using SMP track, is that in preferance to C&L or are they much the same? Maybe see you at the weekend. Ray. Hi Ray Have you started a new thread for your New Layout and have you came up with a name for it yet... Jamie

This is the Point Peter is at... but he has been contantly moving on and real progress and the layout is now takeing good shape... Any Comments, Remards would be Welcome for Peter hard work in the progress for all of us to see... Jamie

tender
Taking shape nicely Peter. I'm tied up with work this weekend so wont be able to get over for a bit to check your progress and pick up some more tips. Been working on my layout plan yesterday but it's become a case of too much track and not enough baseboard. In need of a rethink! Ray.

7APT7
Hi All Well Peter as Managed to fetch the Station board up from his Unit and attach it to the end or start of the new boards... Photos below is where the Cork gets sanded down back to the first lower as it's a siding which was always on a lower level than main line to stop wagons rolling backwards back on to main line... All Remarks and comments welcome... Jamie
RMweb Premium PaternosterRow Posted August 28, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 28, 2012 Hi Peter, What a lovely layout. Interesting curves, beautiful buildings and that lighthouse is superb. 7APT7
Hi All These were some more photos of the Bridge Construction just the other side of the Rock Tunnel and the Halt, small station. As I took more photos today that were a bit more clearer that previous shot of the Bridge... Your Comments welcome... Jamie
7APT7
Hi Again When Peter Matched up the Station Board with the new board there was a slight height different between the two, the newer boards were slightly lower, which meant Peter had to heighten the track bed with another layer of cork which would need sanding down later on after the clue was set.... Some more photos of todays progress and the Slipway building... Comments Welcome Jamie
7APT7
Hi All... Next Peter need to separate each board from the next board, so first few photos are of him soldering down the track to the copper clad which was glued down a day or two ago... and then drill a small 1/2mm hole for the droppers, these are the 3" or so, these rods that will be bent over by about 2-3mm at the one end of the rod to stop it dropping right the way through the pre drilled hole and then soldered to the copper clad... The one photo as been repeated with Red Rings round them to point out where the rod of been soldered... Any Question on Peter's How-To's are welcome or any advice that Peter can pass on are all Welcome... Jamie
