Steph Dale
Hi guys, I've got a couple of sets of Slater's coach bogies I'm making up at the moment and have recently become aware that Phoenix do a black version of their etched primer. The bogies are mostly etched brass, with a few injection-moulded styrene details for things like brake blocks and springs. If I airbrush the bogies with the etching primer am I risking ruining the plastic bits? Your thoughts and help would be much appreciated. James
If I airbrush the bogies with the etching primer am I risking ruining the plastic bits? If you build it up in very light coats then there shouldn't be a problem - but maybe worth a test piece all the same?
halfwit
I've never used their black etch primer but I have used the grey, in aerosol form. It has not affected styrene (plasticard) detailing on my etched locos but it has affected styrene rod, the opaque red stuff. I've never used it on moulded styrene however.
