Merfyn Jones
Does anybody produce the type of fastening used to retain containers on Conflat wagons please. 4mm and 7mm wanted. Merfyn
jwealleans
Not as far as I know. Wizard Models do a useful set of turnbuckles and gubbins and Geoff Kent illustrates a good way to make them up in one of his 4mm wagon books.
3DGuru
Hi there, I've used the Roxey Mouldings Screw Shackles brass etch - couple these to a bit of fine chain (fiddly) but they look great when done - 4 per wagon takes quite a while but they do look the ticket. Might be worth a look for you Dave
richard_t
Does anybody produce the type of fastening used to retain containers on Conflat wagons please. 4mm and 7mm wanted. Merfyn CPL do them for 7mm. My catalogue (09/2009) lists them as 8.25 for a set of four (ref 40). I'd recommend getting in touch with CPL as no doubt they've released a new catalogue at this year's Telford bash.

David Bigcheeseplant
I use in 4mm scale Roxey etched shackles, and use twisted and flattened .3mm brass for the chains, as all chain links are really too course for these and are impossible to solder up. Here is my effort.

Here is my effort. And a very good effort too, I only hope I can achieve somthing like that. And I'll have to look at the Slaters website too. Thanks guys.
