Baby Deltic
No Nonsense kits used to do white metal cast ends. I'm not sure if they will ever be available again following the sad news about the recent death of the owner Alistair Rolfe.
DavidM
Wouldn't recommend doing that if I were you - the 108 and 104 don't have THAT much in common. You're better off starting with a Hornby 110 which is another BRCW product and shares many similarities - several conversion kits for 110 > 104 exist including Craftsmans kit. Hope this helps, Dave
muddys-blues
Hi, DavidM beat me to this one, definately the Craftsman kit used on a Hornby 110 model is best for this, you can get them on ebay stick BRCW 104 in Model Railways search and it will come up with the kit for sale or email craftsman direct on this link http://www.craftsmanmodels.co.uk/
Baby Deltic
The bad news is that you need to remove the raised edges round all the windows on the Hornby class 110 because 104's had flush sided windows.
SRman
The good news is that the conversion of the front end is so simple you don't really need a kit! I used the Craftsman conversion kit for two class 104 (ex-110) driving motor coaches then made my own new driving ends out of plasticard for a driving trailer. The rest of the filing and filling is at the roof ends is the same regardless of whether you make your own or use a kit.
