Redditch 34 Posted October 31, 2010 Share Posted October 31, 2010 A friend of mine has a black 5 with sound bought under a year ago while running it yesterday there was a bit of smoke from the tender and all went quiet. RMweb Premium 7013 Posted October 31, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 31, 2010 Sounds like a case of sending it back to Hornby, I had issues with a King Arthur which was about a year old, I had to return it a few times to get it sorted (Hornby put a new chassis on it eventually). mattog Posted November 1, 2010 Share Posted November 1, 2010 I had a Black 5 that blew a sound decoder. Just went pop and then no sound. It was a capacitor evidently.
