NMT Power car

Does that mean it's been fitted with TVM430 too?

Perhaps it doesn't need it - on the Underground we run the Track Recording Vehicle (TRV) on the Victoria Line in cancelled engineering hours as the only train on the line. This is because it is not fitted with either Victoria Line signalling system.

The NMT could do the same on CTRL - a night time run as sole train on the line. It would need permission of the ORR though, and a suitable safe method of working.

ORR Permission not required as the UTU does this often already, top 'n' tail 66's with the test train in the middle, during a block of the whole system overnight ...
