millerhillboy
Simple question, what is the correct colour to use for BR steam era buffer beam red. I've used just a generic humbrol red to date but some pictures I've seen make buffer beams sometimes look orangey to me. So just wondering what we are all using? RMweb Gold 96701 Posted November 13, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 13, 2010 Good grief, where to begin. There's Humbrol, Railmatch, Precision Paints, enamels, cellulose, acrylic, aerosol. Just put buffer beam red into a well known search engine. If shops sell it, people will be using it.
Lady_Ava_Hay
some pictures I've seen make buffer beams sometimes look orangey to me. Be careful looking at photos, particularly on computers. The colour rendition is not that good. I use Humbrol standard red
halfwit
I've used Humbrol 174 'Signal Red', Humbrol 406 'Buffer Beam Red' looks too pink to me.
millerhillboy
Thanks to all for replies, I think I'll stick to some standard humbrol red as which was what I used before it ran out!! I take the point about the colour in old photos particularly scans.
