Mr Pix
Hi.... This is my attempt at coverting the European looking Wiking Magirus Deutz turntable ladder into a more UK looking appliance. Removed the hose real from the rear of engine as uk appliances have them stored internally in lockers with roller doors. Painted the area under the cab and around the front wheel arch a shade of steel along with the front bumper, these areas were originally white. Also painted the area around where the ladder is atached to the chassis steel as per UK appliances. Will also change the dark blue glazing as the cab can be removed from the chassis. The model will fit in with my late 80s/90s era n guage layout under construction, just need to find some pump/ladder appliances that will fit my uk era. Jet Flame do a couple of N gauge (1:150 scale) Hong Kong Scania fire engines that might be suitable for your attention. The second one (two axle) had a hydraulic lift platform which I've removed; G. With hydraulic platform removed it looks like a pump/ladder,I would add ladders to roof and then would look quite good though a little low compared to the hight of cab. Hoping to scratch build a four bay fire station for layout with one aerial ladder, two pump/ladders and rescue tender. thanks Jez
